Nevada Governor Can't Even Get Divorced Without a Scandal

It's hard to remember a day when Cheatin' Jim Gibbons, the much-maligned governor of Nevada, hasn't seen his dirty laundry aired on national news.

Whether he was getting kicked out of the governor's mansion by his wife, Dawn, or sending 867 dirty text messages at taxpayer expense, Gibbons just couldn't stay out of the gossip pages.

And now as his long-overdue divorce proceedings play out in public, Gibbons is proving that he can't even get them right...

First lady Dawn Gibbons accuses Governor Jim Gibbons in divorce papers of having extramarital affairs with a former Playboy magazine model and another woman to whom he sent hundreds of text messages...

The governor has insisted both women were just friends. He filed for divorce last May, citing "incompatibility" with his wife. The couple had been married since 1986.

The women in question are Kathy Karrasch, wife of a Reno podiatrist, and Leslie Durant, who appeared in a hair fetish issue of Playboy. Gibbons denies both affairs despite cell phone records and embarrassing rodeo photos telling a decidedly different story.

For those keeping score, that's two alleged affairs in the divorce papers. But bear in mind that Dawn Gibbons' lawyers apparently didn't consider threatening to rape a cocktail waitress in a parking garage to constitute an "affair."

Because otherwise they'd allege there were three, not two.
