Wrongfully Accused Twitter Fraud to Olbermann: Apology not Accepted

Actually, to hear Redstate's Caleb Howe tell it, no apology was even offered.

In a Countdown segment a few weeks ago, Keith Olbermann implied that Dan Cooper was in cahoots with Fox News to create a fraudulent Olbermann Twitter account. As I've said before, this was doubtless an oversight by a member of the production staff, an oversight that Olbermann corrected last night. Sort of. Caleb has the video:



I let Dan know that Olbermann's (admittedly less-than-full-throated) correction (excised from the online version of the clip) had aired last night, and I asked if he had a reaction, did the correction satisfy him? In a Political Machine Exclusive, here's what he said:

It's a shame that Pepto-Bismol doesn't have a product for verbal diarrhea.

I'm going to go ahead and take that as a "no."

Actually, I had the honor of being the first to tell Cooper that the correction had aired. You can check my Twitter feed and Cooper's Twitter feed to piece together his reaction.

I have to say, one of the reasons I have admired Olbermann has been his ability to correct mistakes, whole-heartedly. His assertion that "Cooper told us he wasn't involved" doesn't meet the bar he has set in the past, which is disappointing.
