HuffPo's 10 Most Offensive Tea Party Protest Signs

After Wednesday's DC Tax Day Tea Party, I was approached by a young woman who asked if she could take a picture of my leather jacket, which features the logo of the Blue Sun Corporation. Impressed that she recognized its significance, I struck up a conversation with her, and she told me her name was Alex Villanueva, and she was a Citizen Journalist for Huffington Post.

It turns out, the HuffPo Citizen Journalists were out in force on Tea Party day, and the site has slide shows featuring hundreds of their photos. I haven't had a chance to go through them and look for Alex's yet.

Heavily featured is HuffPo's list of the 10 most offensive signs. You can see them all by clicking here. I must have a high tolerance for this stuff, as I didn't expect the signs to say things like "Obama is Yucky!" Most of the signs at the DC protest were variations of worn-out talking points like socialism, or ACORN.

Still, the HuffPo list contains some humdingers. Considering the message control I saw from the organizers of the DC Tea Party, I'm surprised some of these people weren't asked nicely to put these signs away.
I think my favorite has to be the one of President Obama dressed as Hitler, with the caption "The New Face of Hitler!" As if people would confuse it for a butched-up Charlie Chaplin, or an actual photo of Hitler.

I'm sure conservatives will ask "Where are pictures of the 10 Most Normal Tea Party Signs?" The answer to that is self-evident: The same place they keep all those Redstate videos of sensible liberal protesters.

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
