There's a new video of President Obama circulating, in which the President appears to be giving Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez some stern words.

In the video, the President and Chavez can be seen, but not heard. The LA Times describes the scene:(h/t HuffPo)

Now, thanks to Jake Tapper's blog entry over at ABC this afternoon, we've got fresh Venezuelan news videotape from the same Americas summit through a door showing the two leaders conversing through a female interpreter.

No smiles in this exchange. In fact, Obama at first appears eager to walk away and is held back by Chavez. The American president then dominates the ongoing discussion and is seen gesturing with his right hand and pointing his finger several times at Chavez's chest.

Whatever is going on there, it's clear that Chavez is the Zeta Dog in the conversation. Obama's body language communicates to the showboating Chavez that he is being handled.

The White House hasn't commented yet on the content of the exchange, and until they do, we can have fun speculating. Here's the clip:

Here's my transcript:
Chavez: Barack, my friend...

Obama: Hugo, listen carefully to me. The next time you walk up to me with a book, it had better be a copy of "The Audacity of Hope," and you better bring a pen for me to sign it. If you ever walk up to me like that in front of people again, I will beat you like a bowl of egg whites, capiche?

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
