Obama was a community organizer and after a short time he was bored and quit. BTW he was getting paid. The Obama's NEVER volunteer for anything. Obama never volunteered, Michelle doesn't volunteer and the girls don't volunteer. He should practice what he preaches.

If volunteers get paid, should amateur atheletes get paid?

Today, Ignorant means uneducated. It used to mean you did something in spite of knowing better. Ignorant used to mean disregard better judgement. From the root: to ignore. Our whole culture has become ignorant. We ignore the truth, and the consequences, until it's too late.

Read this quote from the article, " The service law expands ways for students and seniors to earn money for college through their volunteer work." Earning money through volunteer work is an oxymoron. Working for money toward college is called a "JOB". It's the same facade/lie that many schools purport when they created volunteerism requirements for graduation. If you're obliged, you're not volunteering. Call both these practices "community service."
