A
Rasmussen poll among likely Republican voters taken last week showed Sen. Arlen Specter's opponent for the 2010 Republican primary, Pat Toomey, with a massive lead over the 28-year incumbent.
The results were:
Pat Toomey- 51%
Arlen Specter- 30%
Some Other Candidate- 9%
Not sure- 10%
That same poll showed 58% of Pennsylvania Republicans saying they were less likely to vote for Specter after he
voted for President Obama's stimulus bill earlier this year. Specter was one of three Senate Republicans to vote for the bill, while no House Republicans voted for it.
Specter will hold a press conference later today to answer questions about his switch. The Capitolist will report back.
