For it to be a family fight, there must be recognition that, regardless of outcome, all members continue to participate in the family business. My sense is that over the course of the last 20 years, the lines have hardened and the Donohue-led wing of the family wants to exclude, corpus et animus, non-adherents. De facto excommunication is back in vogue. Humane Vitae proscribes artificial interference before and after procreation equally. It won't be long before supporters of artificial birth control will be subjected to the same exclusionary treatment.

Melinda Hennenberger's reporting is very weak or non-existent. I hope this is not an indicator of what to expect on Politics Daily. For example, could this be the same Notre Dame that had Terry arrested today? Is this the same Notre Dame where the student group in opposition to Obama's visit, NDResponse, has disassociated itself from Terry and the conservative student publication, Irish Rover, has said it wants nothing to do with the man? Is this the same Notre Dame that has an alumni directory in book form that can be obtained at the St. Joseph County public library? If someone on the inside had supplied the addresses they would include email addresses that Terry could have used much less expensively than a mailing. Does Ms. Hennenberger do absolutely no reporting?

As pro-life as I am, I dissociate from those who encourage violence by their deliberate and calculated actions. I have no problem with civil protests, and if the protestors are arrested it's on the campus police and their employers. But Terry, et al, are self-seeking agitators, not in the tradition of MLK.
It's healthy to make distinctions between pro-life civil and pro-life agitators. You know them by their fruits.

Murdoch's WSJ reported 4/29/09 that just 13% identify themselves as a “strong Republican”; while 7% as a “not very strong Republican.” More than 80% want nothing to do with Wade's teabagging trio of uninformed hooligans.

Earlier this past week a Washington Post poll made a big splash because it found that only 21 percent self-identify as Republicans. The abysmally low number got pundits and reporters talking about the GOP is shrinking below the point of mere irrelevance.

Now we have another Murdoch WSJ poll that finds that the number of self-identified Republicans has dropped even lower: 20 percent.

13% identify themselves as a “strong Republican”; 7% as a “not very strong Republican.” Total: Twenty percent.

So two polls this week have now found this, suggesting it’s probably not an outlier.
