Today is May Day, also known as International Workers' Day, which was created in partial remembrance of labor uprisings during the Haymarket Affair of 1886.

In other words, it's the Socialist New Year.

Now let's collect some dots...

* Rep. Spencer Bauchus (R-AL) has identified 17 of his House colleagues as card-carrying socialists.

* Bauchus's soulmate, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), wholeheartedly agrees and supports a McCarthy-style inquisition to root out the "anti-America" double-agents currently serving in our federal government.

* Bachmann goes further, declaring that after 5 weeks on the job, President Obama had made "the final leap to socialism" and that "the Democrats are about to institutionalize cartels."

* Bachmann, yet again, announced last month Obama has gone so far as to plan "re-education camps" to indoctrinate the next generation of socialists.

* The Haymarket Affair took place in Chicago.

Add up the evidence, friends, and all signs point to an Obama-led violent socialist revolution taking place sometime this afternoon. Presumably the president has worked it into his schedule somewhere between a White House conference call to discuss the SBA's expansion of eligibility for small business loans and shooting hoops with the NCAA women's champion Connecticut Huskies.

(And by the way, Rep. Bachmann gets to collect royalties on any violent revolutions that occur.)
