Video: Sarah Palin, a Grizzly Bear, and the Guy From American Chopper

I'm referring to the guy from American Chopper and the bear separately, by the way.

Raw Story is running the video below, along with a shocked screen grab of Palin lounging by the bear, which is somehow the lede to their story:
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose 2008 vice presidential campaign made her a household name–as well as a lightning-rod for controversy–chats with the gang from American Chopper while sitting on a dead grizzly bear.

The governor is seen nestling against the bearskin rug, draped over a couch in her office. Reportedly, the bear was shot by her father, Chuck. Palin's mother told the Daily Mail last August that the bear "was a mean son-of-a-gun, so Sarah had it skinned with the mouth in a permanent growl."

Is it a story that Palin was indirectly mean to a grizzly bear? I would have been more surprised to find her in an office without a dead animal in it.

The occasion for the meeting was the American Chopper team's trip to Alaska to research a bike they're building to commemorate 50 years of Alaskan non-secession. Did you know Alaska has been a state for 50 years?

What I loved about this was the weird, uncomfortable dialog, as Palin uses up her quotient of notifications that Alaska has been a state for 50 years, and tells American Chopper patriarch Paul Tuetel, Sr., how he's got all kinds of patriotism up in him.

I sympathize. If I went to Alaska, I'd burn through all of my "A" tundra material in 3 seconds and be left twiddling my thumbs, planning fishin' trips I'd never take. And if I met the guy from American Chopper, who seems like a nice guy, I'd be good for "So, why do they call 'em choppers?" and not much more.
