The Capitolist caught up with Tim Gunn on Capitol Hill yesterday while he lobbied against pirates and thieves, specifically the kind who hijack Fifth Avenue's finest designs and sell them at a fraction of the price from the back of a noodle shop in China Town.

The impossibly fashionable Mr. Gunn spoke with the Capitolist after he spent hours of meeting and taking pictures with more than 100 Capitol Hill staffers dressed in their SATC finest.

We asked the fifth-generation Washingtonian about fashion in Washington (there is some!), the antidote to the ubiquitous black pantsuit for Washington women, and his thoughts on the stylings of First Lady Michelle Obama. Enjoy...
