Fox News sent Griff Jenkins out to ambush Janeane Garofalo into apologizing for an anti-Tea-bagger rant in which she accused all of the Tea Party protesters of being racists:
Janeane's rant was wrong, but she does a great job here
of throwing attitude back at Griff, who fails to properly zero in on his target. In the past 8 years, Janeane seems to have picked up some tricks from the enemy. By the end of the clip, if you hadn't seen her original rant, you might agree with her. Either way, she definitely wins this engagement.
She skillfully reframes the question back to Griff, asking him if he denies the "racist element" at the protests, which Griff doesn't dispute. Here's how she put it on Countdown:
Maybe Janeane does better with someone to argue, rather than agree, with her.
Of course, back in the studio with Hannity, the two of them swing back the other way, acting as though there weren't any racist signs at the protests, also false.
I also have to challenge Griff's assertion that he was out in the rain for all those hours. I was at that protest, and I didn't see Griff until about 3pm, and the rain had pretty much subsided.
