The Judicial Confirmation Network, a conservative group that encourages the confirmation of judges who interpret the Constitution -- as opposed to "activist" judges -- has launched a new website, Obama'sFrontrunners.com.
The website focuses on Obama's three likely Supreme Court picks:
(Elena Kagan)
(Diane Wood)
(Sonia Sotomayor)
Earlier today, JCN issued a press release, saying:
It is crucial that the records of Supreme Court potentials such as Kagan, Diane Wood, Sonia Sotomayor, and others be fully vetted and scrutinized so that Americans can have full transparency about them and so that Senators can make informed decisions in fulfilling their constitutional role of advice and consent.
According to the group's Executive Director Gary Marx, this debate is important to have because it will allow the American people to see where their U.S. Senators stand, and to "hold them accountable for their votes."
(Note: In 2005, the author briefly served as Executive Director of the North Dakota Judicial Confirmation Network).
This is vintage GOP. They don't have any ideas of their own so we're going to bash whatever else is out there. Maybe if they could come up with one or two moderate candidates there would be some room for compromise but judging by their past history, they'll put up some flamethrowing conservative whose vision is as narrow as Pat Robertson's then sit back and wonder why there's no room for negotiations.

Jim, why don't you and any racist Republican friends of yours just crawl into a hole somewhere. It's obvious who the Republican scare tactics appeal to and why Republicans are devoid of thoughts to help this great country in its time of need. Its Republicans like you that got us in the mess we're in today.

Republicant's & Cons always oppose honest truth, Justice & the American way, only doubling & tripling deficits while always creating the fewest jobs i.e. w 1.9M Vs. Clinton's 22.7M.

If you are going to brag abour your spelling, you'd better use Spellcheck: wellfair is spelled welfare, democrates is written as Democrats, desguise is spelled disguise, and you got you're wrong, it's your. Eclecticman1, I couldn't agree more, however, you forgot to mention that Martin also misspelled grammar (he spelled it grammer). So much for Republican superiority (sorry Martin, but you asked for it).

These three women aren't fit to fix me breakfast in the morning, much less decide cases on the Supreme Court. What a shame for American to have any of these three baby killers in any responsible position in government.

I don't have a problem with this "activist" group looking into the record of whoever Obama nominates. This is what goes on with both sides when a President puts forth a nominee. The issue always is these groups have to try to persuade Repubican Senators then to go after the nominee; they are the ones who question the nominee and ultimately vote for or againt them, not this group or any other. The Democrats have 59 Senate seats, and it is likely they will get a few moderate Republicans to side with them (the two GOP Senators from Maine, for example, both of whom state they are pro-choice). There really isn't much that can stop any nominee Obama puts forth.
