CA Supremes Uphold CA Prop 8

As it should be! Wow, I knew somehow the will of the people would be trampled on and behold! Prop 8 is upheld! Will wonders never cease. So there IS some sanity in the world, thank God.
This isn't a "gay" thing. No one gets to re-define the word "marriage", no one. In November, the people of CA voted and "spoke." THAT settled it, in my book, but some gays (not all) are so militant that they want what they want when they want it. You don't GET THIS, this time, Dears. Now, go home and drop it, for now. There will be other elections.

My guess is the California Supreme Court likely realized the potential backlash of overturning the will of the voters. Their allowing the 18,000 same-sex marriage licenses to stand seems to be a compromise. My advice to the gay community is to introduce this to voters again in 2010 and try again. It stands to reason a state like California -- which has trended much more liberal in the last few decades -- will indeed have gay marriage eventually.

My point being that if you allowed same sex marriages think of the business revenue you could create for your self and maybe dig your selves out of that monstrous deficit you have created dig dig dig you missed the boat once again b/c of your so called " moral values". Would you rather have taken a chance with Kerry and gotten to keep your house and let those of us who are citizens of the same country get a chance to be happy and be married. If everyone voted to kill all the jews, it doesn't mean it's right. California uphelds inequality... I don't care who voted for it... when hate becomes popular and people vote to hurt others...the justice system is there to equal the rights and create a level playing ground. California supreme court is filled with COWARDS.

When is it fair to leave the rights of a minority up to the majority? If the Supreme Court of the United States hadn't declared segregation by race in schools unconstitutional in 1954, and instead ballot measures were introduced in the states where the case originated, do you really think the people of those states would have voted for integration? The problem in this country is religion. This would not even be an issue if it weren't for the popularity of Christianity, and the selfish mindset of so many Americans who pick and choose what they want to follow from the bible. We have people letting their children die because their religious teachings tell them to refuse medical treatment. Of course, that is a more extreme example, but it is still amazing all the ways we are held back by religion from educating ourselves and bettering our society. We look down on people who are in so many ways just like us, just because they have different beliefs.
