If it's good enough for Queen, it's good enough for Mike Huckabee. The politician-turned-talk show host jammed with "American Idol" winner Kris Allen in New York yesterday during the taping of his Fox News show Huckabee.
For the uninitiated, Huckabee frequently has musical guests on his show and plays along with them on his bass guitar. His latest sessions have included actress and former subway platform singer Jill Hennessy, country singer Rodney Atkins, and oldie-but-goodie Rick Springfield.
Our Fox insiders tell us that the two Arkansans played "Yesterday" by the Beatles, with Allen singing and playing lead guitar and Huckabee backing him up on bass. Allen lives in Conway, Arkansas, while Huckabee is, of course, the former governor of Arkansas.
In addition to performing together, the two talked about Allen's experience on American Idol and what he'll do after the show's tour around the country. The singer threw out one possibility Huckabee knows something about.
"Maybe someday I could be the Governor of Arkansas, right?" Allen suggested.
In response, Huckabee said, "It's a great gig, it really is."
Allen's appearance on "Huckabee" airs Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. EST on Fox News Channel.
