ported yesterday, Barack Obama's burger jaunt was cause for inter-network sparring, but for the burger joint in question, everything's coming up roses...or should I say, O'ses. (Sorry, that was my homework for Local TV News Copy 101.)
According to a source at the Five Guys Restaurant, the President's visit has resulted in a more-than-doubling of business, and "everybody wants the 'Obama Burger.'" They even had to stay open last night to satisfy the demand.
The "Obama Burger" is the unofficial (for now) designation for a cheesburger with lettuce, tomato, mustard, and jalapenos. There was not, apparently, a jump in demand for the "Brian Williams Burger (cheeseburger with ketchup)."

A quick review of the restaurant's history page indicates that they hardly needed the help, expanding from 5 locations in 2001, to over 300 today. They serve only fresh, never-frozen beef, as evidenced by the fact that none of their restaurants has a freezer.
They claim over 250,000 ways to order a burger, and while I might philosophically disagree, it sure is hard to argue with success.
As for President Obama, maybe he should get out of the gate more often and grace other businesses with the Obama Sales Spike.

"Obama-style" is a great idea that could, with a little tweaking, have wide application. He could help the thousands of wedding planners in California who lost business when Prop 8 was affirmed. It could be the "Obama-Style Gay Commitment and DADT reception."
He wouldn't even have to play gay, because "Obama-style" when applied to the gay community seems to be you say you'll say "I do" but never really actually say it.
Some of these weddings could last for days.

I love 5 guys burgers (and miss them now that im in tampa) but maybe he should stimulate the economy by stopping the printing of massive currency with nothing to back it. The result will be hyperinflation 6-9 months from now as the money enters the economy. the surplus cash will just devalue the dollar and everything from guns to butter will cost more. Its borrowing from peter to pay paul etc. We have to raise taxes and/or cut spending. You cant just print money from nothing without inflation as a result. Read up on the weimar republic in 1920's germany if you dont believe me. This redistribution of wealth will make everyone poorer and poorer - jobs wont be the issue food will.

The communists in China gained power by hyper inflating the currency, and when nobody was able to feed themselves anymore, the commies told them, "you don't need money, we'll feed you", them the murder of 50? MILLION peasants started, "for the good of the people".

please do not assume all democrats, voted for and/or back the big zero.
there are democrats such as myself, and my family, who did not vote for nor do we support the direction this man is taking this country.
as for where or what he eats, who gives a damn.
I bet the people losing their jobs, and unable to find new ones, have more things to be concerned about, than where our president eats.
and don't give me the arguement, he is stimulating the economy.
all he is doing is seeing how many people will follow him blindly, and unfortunately too many do.

Congratulations to Five Guys Resto! Your "Obama Burger" has some competition here in San Diego, California. Not exactly though. We have here what's now famously referred to as "Obama Pandesal" -- a bun (the size of hamburger buns) made from 100 percent wheat flour and stuffed with chicken adobo, sweeet peas, carrots, raisin and cream cheese. The "Obama Pandesal" was created by Filipino baker Wilma Fernandez Ventura (and is available only at her Original Richard's Bakery) to honor and celebrate the first African-American president of the US. Come by and see for yourself.

I was in the restroom of a 5 Guys. Above the urinal(I swear this is true)they had an ad promoting the fact that their burgers are hand made. It made me hope those employees washed their hands after the restroom. Everybody does of course. Right?

I would love to see a posting from the mayor of Las Vegas on this board. I would LOVE to hear how Obama cost that city millions of dollars in lost revenue because of his comments. Guess that sales spike didn't work...oh, that's right, he tells others NOT to go to Vegas, while he uses government money to fly to see a play on Broadway. A bit hypocritical, wouldn't you say? Guess it's okay for him, but not for you or me.
I will never follow this man or his pitiful example of "leading".

I DONT BLAME OBAMA FOR SINKING THE U.S. INTO DEBT,IM A REALIST. I SAW THIS COMING WHEN BUSH WAS IN OFFICE. 150,000 jobs have been saved or created, thanks to the stimulus pakage, while millions of jobs have been lost, and many millions more about to be lost, with no new jobs to replace them. WOW
but hell the ceo's all got their millions in bonuses.
and Pelosi got her dream projects through, that she couldn't get through under Bush.
while there are no summer jobs for our teens, because the elderly, and the out of work bitter, cling to their guns, and religion people have to take jobs at minimum wage, with maybe 20 hours a week, because it is that or nothing.
and those that lost so much because people like Madoff, were able to steal from them, so he could lead the rich life.
or the billions pumped into GM, and it is still going bankrupt. and now our president will take over private industry, something he nor any PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES should be allowed to do.
Bush did not get us here all by himself,
the democratic congress, has exactly the same amount of blame.
and I am a democrat.
