They don't, so the real question is why do you think they do? Is it because people not of color still remain predominatly in power in almost all levels of society?
Referring to others as "persons of color" is weird when one thinks about it, because white people, to paraphrase a comedian I once heard, turn red when embarrassed, blue when cold, orange when they stay in the sun too long, and gray when they're dead...so how is it that blacks, asians, and others are "people of color"?
Nice strawman BTW, get yourself a Tin Man, a Lion and a Dog, and you can put on your own version of the movie and call it the Wizard of Odds...or GOP Caucus, as the rest of us call it.

Now under normal circumstances I would have to agree with
Kim Pearson.
This is not a run of the mill apointment.
This is a life time job to the Nations highest court.
In light of this ,a person who takes this job must be above reproach.
With that as a given; I must respectfuly say that this sotomayor has a tint of racism in her, and as such should not be elevated to this god like post of Justice.

By every account of her peers, liberal and conservative, she is above reproach, something even shown in her prior rulings. The only hint of racism related to her, appears to that of those desperately trying to pin her as a racist. Maybe she's been hiding it from everyone for over 30 years as part of her masterplan to have President Obama nominate her to the Supreme Court, after first being brought to a high Federal Court by a Republican.
Yeah...makes perfect no sense.

Maybe more Americans should try being a minority for once, and have their fate placed before a white male or a white female in the judicial system, and understand the complexity of the legal system that is in place in America!...this obviously is a situation only minority's can relate regarding her feelings and experience!......try once to act as though America isn't a race conscious society! People like that white talk show host, are the ones that remind us of the issues, in America, how come so many people have some much too say and they aren't even running for president!

Racist...Shouldn't the question be, Is Sonia Sotomayor qualified to sit on the Supreme Court? If people would do due dilligence and read her words in the proper context, they would certainly know otherwise. Look at her record as a Judge, look at qualifications and then make an educated/intelligent decision. From where I sit, she's an outstanding professional who has certainly earned her seat on this court. She would bring experience, intelligence, fairness and a balance to this court.

"God Like Post", you can't be serious. This is not the Vatican of some religious occupation. It is a life long position occupied by human beings. Not angels or some etherial being. Humans are imperfect, and are capable of making informed decisions. Sometimes we even make mistakes. Someone as intelligent, qualified and compassionate, as Sonia Sotomayor is what we need sitting on the bench of this high court. Do your due dilligence and read. Read about the Supreme Court, it's not Church or "God like" and don't comment when you don't have your facts straight.
