Michelle Obama's visit this weekend to Paris will no doubt bring out dusty recollections of Jackie Kennedy's successful trip to La Ville-Lumière in 1961 when the recently installed first lady charmed Charles DeGaulle and the citizens of France simply by dressing well and speaking French. Mrs. Obama, also known for her fashion sense, has her own skills and talents, but the bar has been raised since the 1960s, and the French now have a first lady who takes showmanship into a whole different league.

A self-made bohemian, Carla Bruni Sarkozy, the Italian-born model and singer wife of France's president, Nicolas Sarkozy, told Le Figaro Madame last year "Monogamy bores me terribly. ... I prefer polygamy and polyandry." Her colorful sexual history rivals that of her native country's current premier Silvio Berlusconi, whose wife recently walked out over the 72-year-old media baron's alleged relationship with an 18-year-old model. Carla's well publicized love life includes rockers Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger, whose own marriage blew up over his relationship with Carla, then in her 20s. More recently she was rumored to have had serial affairs with father and son Jean Paul and Raphael Enthoven.

Michelle Obama, more straight-laced than her Paris counterpart, puts great store in fidelity and rectitude. Though the two presidential wives were photographed together at the NATO summit in Strasbourg this spring, Mr. and Mrs. Obama may not want to become couple friends with Carla and Nicolas. The American visitors have declined the Sarkozys' overtures to dine together during the trip.

There will be more comparisons then recollections. Michelle Obama just wishes she had half the class, style and dignity that Jackie displayed. Unfortunately, Michelle Obama's "skills and talents" aren't very useful to a First Lady visiting in Europe.

I can't believe what I hear and read that my fellow Americans have said about our First Lady. She has more class in her little finger than some have in their whole body. She is a well-disciplined, highly intelligent woman who has graduated from one of the top Law Schools in the country. She and the President seem to have a very solid relationship both between themselves and with the girls. She is the product of a solid middle-class family, and it shows. She also shows a very warm, kind side of herself to anyone who takes the time to assess the information that is out there about her. The girls are her priority--as they should be. I'm sure they are well aware of their parents' love and guidance. Find me a better role model as first lady. You may find others who rival--but I doubt you'll find anyone to surpass her.

So why did the hobamas refuse to dine with the French President and his wife? Probably for the same reason hobama dissed Queen Elizabeth. hobama sure knows how to make friends in Europe, doesnt he?

Michele Obama is going for her Paris vacation with her two daughters on our ticket. Neither she nor her husband do anything but flit around and indulge themselves...by the way, Michele is a fat-assed pig with no fashion sense going to Paris, the city of style...Oh, brother...she should have brought her fat-assed buddy, Oprah so she would have someone with her with something in common. Oprah has not style or class either.

Michelle Obama is NO Jackie Kennedy.
Nor is Mr. Obama anywhere close to John F. Kennedy.
It's so nice to see the Obama's RECKLESSLY and VICIOUSLY SPENDING TAXPAYER DOLLARS when SO MANY AMERICANS have no jobs.
$90,000.00 for their little "Date-night" to see a Broadway Show.
Involved Jets and Helicopters. Nice of the American people to foot the bill for the Obama's "date-night".
I'm sure we will be paying for lots of date nights for them.
