Sotomayor's OWN comments have repeatedly shown racist tendencies, and for the record, I am Hispanic. And as it turns out, she made those comments on three televised occasions, and goodness knows how many others that were not televised.

As has been pointed out, if a white male made those comments in reverse, he would be drop kicked out of government instead of applauded by Obama s the best America has to offer. After his mass hirng of tax evader, we can only say... no surprise.

Not that I think she is not right for the job, because everyone shoud be judged by their actions. The question is, did she make the comment as reported? If so then by the terms set forth by all "Minorities" she was being racist. If a person of anglo origion had made the same remark in reverse then the "Minorities" would be screaming the same thing. Some where in the near future, if this fine nation is going to survive then all persons irregardless of origion are going to have to stop screaming racisim everytime something is said or someone bumps them. It seems strange that everytime something happens to a person that happens to be in one of the minority classes it is always done because of racisim, why not accept that things happen, no matter who you are or where you come from.

This is an example of the epitome of hypocrisy. I have seen the race card played by several black politicians during and after the election. If you didn't vote for Obama you were a racist. If you thought Roman Burris from Illinois was a liar and crook, you were a racist. Now, when someone thinks this person, who has stated her opinions in public might just be a racist, along with her affiliations with racist organizations, it terrible and wrong. Give us all a break, some of us are educated you know.

Qualifications for the position of Supreme Court Judge have nothing to do with why this person was picked. Its a no brainer politically orchestrated event/stunt. You would have to be inchoherent not to see that this choice was made only to get votes, and appease special interest groups, has nothing to do with what the people in this Country think. Just another thing to shove down our throats, good bad or indifferent.

Racism is in the eye of the beholder. When one's perspective is negative then one will see negative. My point is this: As a child, you wake up each day full of energy , ready to explore the world. This child is nourished and taught by his mother and father, grandmother and so on. If this child is taught with a negative perspective and shown nothing but negativity then the joy and desires of this child will gradually change as that child develops into a teen. If a child is told that the world is a "mean" place and that people are cruel and predjudice, then that child will become a troubled teen with hate in his or her heart. A desire to get even will replace the wonder of life. As that teen becomes an adult, the perspective of racism deepens and the troubled heart festers. The negative perspective of this adult intertwines with daily living. He or she will influence others to his or her perspective. Walls will be built for protection, friends will be selective and will only be shared with similar hearts. All of this because of this evil notion of racism. This perspective fostered at such a young age.

My final point is that if your perspective is from God, it will be loving and accepting of all mankind regardless of the differences. It will not matter what each day will bring because you walk with a loving heart. God takes care of the rest. Check your heart, does it need fine tuning.

And Biden say's to police that "She's got your back". What's really going on that the biased media are not telling us? Do I want a Supreme Court Justice to have my 'back', or interpret the law?

Context. Here and in life. The woman isn't racist. Have Americans become so illiterate that they can be used as puppets by anyone with an agenda and the breathtaking lack of integrity that tries to twist meanings and convince people to believe lies?

What happened to the ability to listen to what a person's actual meaning is? I might say, "I doubt that it's going to rain today" and someone will claim I said "..it's going to rain today". I said the words but the meaning is the exact opposite because the words were taken out of context. This example is as simplified as possible but the principle is exactly the same. Michelle Obama said "For the first time in my adult life I'm REALLY proud of my country". Emphasis on "really". Less intelligent or less thoughtful people grabbed at this as evidence that she hated her country. Leave out a couple of words....e.g., "really" and "adult" and the excited way in which the words were uttered, the situation relating to the recognition of realized opportunities for African Americans, and some people decided that the opposite of "really proud" was "hate". Inaccurate, misleading, and dishonest.

It seems that certain people have already decided what they want a person to be saying almost before the person expresses the thought.

Just remind me please, where can I find the posts where jpgoodracist and liar0066 condemned the nomination of Samuel Alito when it was revealed that he donated money to a campaign to keep his college white, by excluding non-white students?

It seems to me that actually donating money to an overtly white supremacist campaign is more "racist" than making a statement which can be taken out of context and twisted.

But I think we all know that jp, a Republican spokesperson, is paid not to condemn Republican racists, but rather to find any and every excuse for attacking Democratic nominees, candidates and ideas, even when it means twisting or even altering "facts".

One has to wonder what level of self doubt and cowardice drives people to lie to promote their agendas, or to pay money to protect the privileges of their race, as Sam Alito did. Are these cowards really so convinced that they are uable to compete on an even playing field?

I don't care for his sister's comments and whether he is "angry" or not is of no consequence to me. Another "angry" minority, gee, that's a new one.

TO Sotomayor's brother: Her comments are the most insulting, derogatory, off-base comments that I've ever heard out of a supreme court nominee.

If she doesn't want to be called a racist, she shouldn't make racist remarks and court decisions. She is a racist.

She can't be a racist, you have to be a white person to be capable of racism. If you're white and you like other white people or prefer the company of majority white people, even if it's your Mom and Dad, brother or sister - you are racist.
