Before we get too immersed in our philandering politician du jour, the sitting governor of South Carolina, can we stop and gape a moment at the philandering former senator of North Carolina and former presidential hopeful John Edwards?

Edwards has had enough publishing problems with his wife Elizabeth Edwards' well-reported "Resilience," and the upcoming memoir of the filmmaker with whom Edwards had a career-killing dalliance, Rielle Hunter. Now Andrew Young, John Edwards' staffer and Hunter's erstwhile cover lover, is shopping his tell-all book proposal. Young, who apparently has no residual loyalty for his former boss, made a statement in 2007 that he was the father of Hunter's still-unborn child, but now says that Edwards is the child's sperm donor. According to the New York Daily News, Hunter told Young "she and Edwards talked about getting married should the candidate's cancer-stricken wife, Elizabeth, pass away." Young claims the clandestine couple even discussed "what music they'd play at their wedding." The Daily News also reports the former aide has promised some lucky publisher details about a sex tape that depicts his former boss "taking positions that weren't on his official platform."
