Hopefully, we've moved past female politicians running for office with children. My hitch is this. A Sarah Palin aged politician with children or a 70 year old grand mother Pelosi aged poltician; better yet a 75 year old grand mother aged politician like Diane Fienstien.

Good ole US is heading for a new day and era. Grandma and grandpa politicians need to be retired off.

Palin's looks or fertility level are completely irrelevant...what matters more is what's inside the "attractive" head...and that's an alarmingly discordant but 'fertile' imagination. Humans and dinosaurs walking together? "I've seen the pictures" really??? and we've all seen what's inside Area 51 too... "I can see Russia from my house" and the product extrapolated from her fertile imagination is that it = foreign policy experience...and it gets worse...she imagines that a leader in the free world doesn't need to know what countries are in NAFTA...because after all, if you're supporting you husband's ideas you're voting for Alaska to secede in the first place... and last but certainly not least, one doesn't need to know or be able to cite the resources you use for your information to Katie Couric because after all, you can use your fertile imagination to make it up, especially when you're attempting to justify your fundamentalist daughter's illegitimate pregnancy...because, after all, she was just fertile...and "they intended to get married the whole time"....uhm yeah...

My wish is that for the republican party to remain a force in the election system that they come up with a qualified woman, one who is educated, articulate and sensible, one with some real experience and some real smarts to back it up...I'm certain there are a number to choose from...and finally, one, who has more substance than quips about "Joe Six Pack" and has more integrity than to let the crowd supporting her at a rally to scream out "Kill Him" when obama's name was mentioned. McCain at least, took the microphone out of the hands of the woman at the town hall meeting who called Obama a terrorist because McCain has two things that Palin always lacked. Integrity, and a sense of service to his country not to himself. republicans, if you find a woman of his calibre you will do well, if not, and Palin runs, you may as well get used to hearing " 4 more years" because Bo Obama will run a better campaign than she would.

IT NOTHING WRONG IN BEING A POLITICAL MOM AS LONG AS YOUR CHILDREN ARE FULLY GROWN AND RAISED.

NOW SARAH PALIN CAN RUN WITH THE BIG BOYS AND BEAT THEM AT THERE OWN GAME WITHOUT A TELEPROMTER AND THE LIBS SEEN WHAT SHE DID WITH OLD MAN MCAIN THE GOPS JOKER CANDIDATE, THE LIBS AND DRIVE BYE MEDIA UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE BRINGS TO THE TABLE IS SOMETHING PRES OBAMA AND HIS CHI-TOWN MAFIA CAN NOT BEAT IT IS CALLED GOOD OLD ALASKAN TRUTH, A DOWN TO EARTH CLASSY LADY THAT KNOWS THE NUMBER OF STATES IN THE USA IS NOT 57 BUCKWHEAT.

Governor Palin has done and continues to do a fine job in Alaska along with caring for her family. This is apparently due to excellent physical condition and great teamwork from her family. Obviously, her multitasking capabilities are some of the things required of effective leaders. You don't become an effective governor without learning to solve problems with intelligent decisions. She has the teamwork in both family and government leadership to meet whatever challenges she faces now and in the future.

It would appear to me that although Michelle Obama is not a politican per se, her plate is much fuller than Gov. Palin's, and I certainly do not recall reading negative stories regarding her "female fertility".

I'm shocked whenever I see someone bring this up. Those who think that children are a liability only when it is the mother who is running for office have issues they need to work through. Thankfully, I think most people agree that moms are just as capable as dads are, all other things being equal, so it's a non-issue. I wonder if those on the Left who take issue with Palin on this *particular* issue really think they have an issue here or if they are appealing to the still-backward views of some on the Right. I mean, what is the deal? A principled liberal would never attack any woman, conservative or not, on this particular issue. They either lack the principle that moms are just as capable as dads, or they are just unprincipled enough to forget that principle when they want to target someone. I do think that as a society, both those on the Left and the Right have advanced beyond the flawed ideal that women are less capable if they have children. Surely Palin would never have been elected as governor if we had not. She proves that the Right has evolved on a level most probably didn't realize.

There is a difference between having children and "using" children while in politics. Unfortunately, Palin appears to use her children for percieved gain. Noone else drags their children around at all hours and to functions they have no interest in.
