It would be UN-American to not question the people in authority. THEY represent OUR interests and if we foolishly simply do what they say, we are just sheep. Obama is a MAN, not a God and it is insane to think that one MAN will represent every aspect of American life. If I don't agree with him, that doesn't mean I oppose America, because Obama is NOT AMERICA! The PEOPLE of the country make up America and we all have a our own ideas, which may or may not agree with him.

If opposing Obama means being anti-America, then I am in that list big time. I loathe Obama, his policies, and the leftwing that supports him.
This may be Waxmans God, but hes not mine.To even suggest this is UN American and shows just what these people think of our Constitution. God Bless America. For the People by the People. Not the Government for the people as our leaders think it should be. Stand Up and be heard this is a wake up call all you reading this!

The country was in the turd-bowl long before Obama got in, don't forget. As much as we ALL would like to forget the past 8 years. A lot of folks disguise their dislike of a man of color as Pres. with deriding his policies etc. Get over it, Bush failed miserably and Obama has a mess to deal with. So shut up and watch Fox.

Why do you think that this country was in the "turd bowl?" Up until the Democratic takeover of Congress in November 2006, this country flourished for 6 years b/c of the Bush tax cuts - which were the result of the mini-recession due to the 9/11 atttacks. Not to mention, winning the war in Iraq. The housing bubble burst and Bush had nothing to do with it - you can thank Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, and the rest of the looters at Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Whether or not this country was "in the turd bowl" before Obama took over is not the point. The point is has what Obama done since the inauguration helped or hurt an already bad situation. We are in serious, serious financial trouble because of the debt incured since January. Our children's future is owned by China...so is our gradchildren's. Biden's admission that they seriously underestimated the problem says it all. They have no clue what they are doing. GM will go down the tubes, our freedoms are becoming seriouly compromised, and now Waxman wants us all to keep our mouths shut.....or what? And the overuse of the race issue is quickly making it a non-issue. It has lost its power to intimidate. So shut up and watch Olberman.

This may or may not be the case, but what Waxman says has nothing to do with LIKING or NOT LIKING the guy. He is saying that if you have an opposing viewpoint that you are opposing America. SINCE WHEN IS THIS TRUE IN THE US??? We are BUILT on opposing viewpoints. MANY disagreed with Bush and ALL the previous presidents, it didn't mean they were opposing America as a WHOLE. It simply meant they opposed the policies of the person. Obama is NOT America and when we shut down discourse and just "agree" then we cannot move forward. Don't muddy the debate with unrelated information. This is ONLY about the Waxman statement, NOT about the man's race or what he did or did not "inherit" from previous administrations.
I will NOT be called un-American because I disagree politically with someone.

Not every republican or conservative watches FOX TV. It's our right to question anyone, Bush, Obama, anyone who is a politician...Not everyone is a racist and your implication that opposition to Obama's policies is an indication of same, is pure ignorance

I do watch Fox! - not the fantasy delivered as news on the other networks. Democrats have screwed this country for years - there were no problems until democrats got involved and insisted banks give loans to unqualified people, affirmative action, social security, education, etc. Being american is about being recognized and proud to be an individual, having an opportunity to pursue your goals with hard work. It is not a place to get a handout because you're part of one ethnic group or another, or you're too lazy to get a job. Schools should be able to teach without fear of reprisal from parents, doctors should be able to administer care without fear of frivolous malpractice suits. People should respect other people, regardless of race, creed, or color. If we do all that, we can get government out of our lives, and get back to business.

Sindfetish- Yes, we were in a bad way before O'bama. Now we are in a much worse way! I personally am not a racist and will never be. I could care less what color a man's skin is when it comes to office. O'Bama acts like an egotistical child, a spoiled brat! So what if he is the first mixed race in the office of president! Who the hell really cares? It shouldn't matter enough to let a man like this one run rough shod over our constitution like it was a worthless document that needed changing whenever he had a whim! He wants to change this government we love dearly, into something that most of us really don't want any part of; Communism or Socialism. We don't need his "Change" that badly!

You are a lock-step supporter. It doesnt mean you cant have an opinion but this has nothing to do with the last president nor does it have to do with his ski color. It has everything to do with the current president and his agenda. He is a radical who has misrepresented himself as a moderate. His agrenda is the agenda being pushed by the House Dems.
Obama pulled a fast one when he decided to “let” congress write up the bill. Most presidents will draft their own version first and then send it to congress in order to make sure they get into the bill their own main objectives. Obama told congress to “…give him a bill he can sign.” (wink-wink to Poloesi, Reid, Waxman, et all) so they (congress) would take the brunt of the blame and shame.
The inconvenient truth is this allows Obama to publicly say, “…we don’t have a bill”, “… I am not familiar with that section of the bill”, “…All these things people are saying about what I want or will put into the bill are misguided lies or misrepresentations”, “… I haven’t read that yet”.
That last one is really the kicker… he is out selling “congress’” version of health care reform and he hasn’t even read the legislation. And that is a direct quote he said during a telephone conference town hall in which he was asked about the end of life counseling. I was listening and heard it myself.
Where is the ethics in that? Promoting something you haven’t even read? (The answer is easy; he already knows what’s in the bill because it’s his bill!)
The biggest problem here is that most anyone who is supporting this legislation has not read it or is going to be excluded from it otherwise they are just plain stupid. HR 3200 is not reform it is a wholesale takeover of the entire industry. READ THE BILL, HR 3200, YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT FROM THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS.
