Hot Seat: Cap and Trade

Call it what it is... A tax increase aimed at the middle class and small businesses that will in turn make the massive corporation, GE, the largest government owned and operated enterprise in the history of the world. With NBC and its affiliates pushing propaganda, 24/7, they will in turn receive the contracts for all new alternative energy projects.
Meanwhile everyone making over 50k a year will see a good portion of their disposable income shrink with new taxes on everything from home fuel to a loaf of bread. All while China and India enjoy the influx of American businesses relocating because of costs and restrictions, leaving even more citizens dependent on the government for unemployment and welfare.
This is as cynical a thing that could be imagined. The disembowelment of a powerful nation from within, the only way it could be.

This is a bad piece of legislation. It is not a jobs bill. As a matter of fact it extends unemployment benefits to those who WILL lose their jobs. It will increase the cost of energy. "Under my cap and trade plan, energy costs will significantly increase"(paraphrase Obama 2008). Some estimates are as much as $3000.00 per year per household. Couple that with an increase in cost to purchase ANYTHING that is manufactured, transported or sold in a store that requires energy and we will have less income. They know this. That is why there is included in this bill cash payments to "the poor", direct deposit, so they can pay their electric bill. So I am paying my bill, paying more for stuff I buy at the store AND I am paying for other people's electricity. I sure hope they buy those expensive, mercury-filled, toxic light bulbs and turn off the lights when they leave the room. But, why should they, they aren't paying the bill. WE ARE! Socialism run rampant. Representatives in the House bought off for their vote. The Dem who heads the Agriculture Committee was opposed to this bill, as were most of the Representatives from the farm states as late as May. It looked like it was doomed until the wheeling and deal was done. At whose expense? Ours. We the people and of course the drones/lemmings who keep voting for these jokers. Vote them all out, lets get some people in there who want to do what is best for the country and not for their own power-mad agendas.

If Obama wants to get anything done, he and his people need to stop mollycoddling conservatives, be they Dems or Repubs. I hope Nevadans vote out Harry Reid, he's a wimp majority leader. Lyndon Johnson would have busted the Blue Dog's butts by now. Why the hell vote Democratic, if the Dems are going to act like Repubs?

Conservatives and their mistresses are on the run all across America, they are below 20% of the electorate and only reside on talk shows and FOx News. What the hell are you waiting for? Clinton tried to kiss conservative keister and they impeached him. They'll never cooperate. Ignore them and get done what needs getting done!

The above poll results clearly shows most Americans don't want higher heating oil, electricity, gas and our industrial base and jobs exported to China because energy is to expensive here to do business.

Americans will suffer while China brings about one huge new coal fired power plant on line every week. Any US reductions in CO2 will MORE than be offset by the worlds fastest growing economies, China and India.

The end result will be higher energy costs in the US that will raise the cost of EVERYTHING for consumers. Many business will take their manufacturing business and jobs to China and India for cheaper energy and labor costs.
The US is the Saudi Arabia of coal and Cap and Trade seeks to make THE fuel we have more of than anywhere on the planet to expensive so use, go figure.

California, the most progressive state in the country, has been ahead of the curve on Cap and Trade. Effective January 1st 2007 California's version of Cap and Trade, AB 32, has resulted in Californias deep recession getting only deeper.

Before January 1st 2007 Californias unemployment rate mirrored the national average. Since January 1st 2007 the unemployment in California has jumped more than two points above the national average to over 11%.

Since January 1st 2007 electricity costs in California have LITERALLY doubled.

With nearly TOTAL control of the government we can only hope moderate and "Blue dog" democrats will not be "dead fish" and "go with the flow" but will take a stand and listen to the 67% of Americans who oppose Cap and Trade.

Outpouring of Skeptical Scientists Continues as 59 Scientists Added to Senate Report.

‘The science has, quite simply, gone awry’
Washington DC: Fifty nine additional scientists from around the world have been added to the U.S. Senate Minority Report of dissenting scientists, pushing the total to over 700 skeptical international scientists – a dramatic increase from the original 650 scientists featured in the initial December 11, 2008 release. The 59 additional scientists added to the 255-page Senate Minority report since the initial release 13 � weeks ago represents an average of over four skeptical scientists a week. This updated report – which includes yet another former UN IPCC scientist – represents an additional 300 (and growing) scientists and climate researchers since the initial report�s release in December 2007.
The over 700 dissenting scientists are now more than 13 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers. The 59 additional scientists hail from all over the world, including Japan, Italy, UK, Czech Republic, the U.S. and many are affiliated with prestigious institutions including, NASA, U.S. Navy, U.S. Defense Department, Energy Department, U.S. Air Force, the Philosophical Society of Washington (the oldest scientific society in Washington), Princeton University, Tulane University, American University, Oregon State University, U.S. Naval Academy and EPA.
The explosion of skeptical scientific voices is accelerating unabated in 2009. A March 14, 2009 article in the Australian revealed that Japanese scientists are now at the forefront of rejecting man-made climate fears prompted by the UN IPCC. Prominent Japanese Geologist Dr. Shigenori Maruyama, a professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology�s Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences who has authored more than 125 scientific publications, said in March 2009 that “there was widespread skepticism among his colleagues about the IPCC’s fourth and latest assessment report that most of the observed global temperature increase since the mid-20th century �is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentrations.” Maruyama noted that when this question was raised at a Japan Geoscience Union symposium last year, ‘the result showed 90 per cent of the participants do not believe the IPCC report.” [Also See: The prestigious International Geological Congress, dubbed the geologists’ equivalent of the Olympic Games, was held in Norway in August 2008 and prominently featured the voices of scientists skeptical of man-made global warming fears. “I do not find the supposed scientific consensus among my colleagues,” noted Earth Scientist Dr. Javier Cuadros on March 3, 2009. Cuadros is of the UK Natural History Museum, who specializes in Clay Mineralogy and has published more than 30 scientific papers.
Award-Winning Princeton University Physicist Dr. Robert H. Austin, who has published 170 scientific papers, was elected a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences lamented the current fears over global warming. “Unfortunately, Climate Science has become Political Science. It is tragic that some perhaps well-meaning but politically motivated scientists who should know better have whipped up a global frenzy about a phenomena which is statistically questionable at best,” Austin told the minority staff on the Environment and Public Works Committee on March 2, 2009.

Pundip, if global warming isn't proven to be tied to Co2 increases, and it isn't, Cap and Tax is a joke, and not a very funny one either. Add to that the FACT that China and India won't agree to curb their production of greenhouse gases and all Cap and Tax amounts to is ECONOMIC SUICIDE for the U.S. Of course it also gives Obama more POWER, which is what this whole scam is about to begin with.

According to Democrat pollster Schoen and Rasmussen, he's lower than Bush was at the same point in their presidency.

Cap and Tax isn't going to help him.
