The fourth day of hearings have included tough questions, but kind words, for Sonia Sotomayor from the Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Earlier, Sen. Lindsey Graham (who asked Tuesday if Sotomayor has a "temperament problem") said to Sotomayor today, "You have come a long way. You have worked very hard. You have earned the respect of Kenn Starr. You have said some things that just bug the hell out of me."
Graham then asked Sotomayor for her final word on the non-infamous "wise Latina" comment that she has made in several speeches, to which she said, "I regret that I have offended some people. I believe that my life demonstrates that it was not the intent to leave the impression that some have taken from my words."
Graham's response: "You know what judge? I agree with you. Good luck"
Later, the top Republican on the panel, Sen. Jeff Sessions, told Sotomayor he believes she should have an up-or-down vote on the Senate floor. "I will not support, nor do I believe any other Republicans will support, a filibuster to stop your nomination. I look forward to you getting that vote before the August break."
