The Boston Globe reports that President Obama will deliver a eulogy at Senator Edward Kennedy's funeral on Saturday at The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Boston. The service will be invitation only, but is certain to be broadcast to the nation.
Kennedy endorsed Obama at a key juncture of the '08 Democratic primary, just before Super Tuesday, and the two men were quite close from their time together in the Senate. Following Saturday's ceremony, Kennedy's casket will proceed via motorcade to Logan Airport and then be flown to Washington D.C. Kennedy will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery at 5 pm on Saturday, next to his brothers John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy.
Our New Approach to Comments
In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers –
a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around.
