President Obama's Sunday news show media blitz -- interviews with five hosts -- actually takes place Friday at the White House. Obama is taping the interviews in a move the White House hopes will corner the message market on every platform. The Sunday shock and awe will be followed by the president guesting on David Letterman's show Monday.
Obama is hitting the circuit as part of his drive to pass health care overhaul legislation, but the hosts are free to ask questions on any topic.
Obama is doing interviews on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and Univision, and there will be competition to see which outlets get their juiciest excerpts out first. The White House did not grant Fox a sit-down interview, but Fox of course can use the clips from the other shows for its own reports.
