The case of a U.S. Census worker founding hanging from a tree in rural Kentucky is now being investigated by the FBI, suggesting that law enforcement official believe there were political motives behind the death. Bill Sparkman, a 51-year-old part-time census worker and teacher, was found Sept. 12 in a remote part of Daniel Boone National Forest. The word "FED" was scrawled across his chest.
The FBI has declined to discuss the case, saying it's job is to "determine if there was any foul play involved." AP reporter Devlin Barrett, appearing on "The Rachel Maddow Show" Wednesday,
said he did not believe the FBI would be involved if the case weren't being investigated as a politically motivated murder.

Our New Approach to Comments
In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers –
a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around.
