U.S., NATO Officials to Discuss Afghanistan Strategy in London
NATO and British Defense Ministry officials deny an orchestrated "summit" for discussing Afghanistan, but all of the top power players in the war will convene in London this week for speeches and strategy discussions. American Gen. Stanley McChrystal will deliver a speech to military experts, and NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and NATO's top commander in Europe, Admiral James Stavridis, will attend.
The meetings come at a crucial point in the conflict, as pressure increases on President Obama to choose a new strategy in Afghanistan, and as European nations respond to disapproval of the war in their countries. Rasmussen, who is in Washington this week, has stressed Europe's desire to use their troops for training Afghan security forces rather than combat. British Prime Minister Gordon Brown responded to his own military commanders' desire for more combat troops by saying Britain would only supply additional troops for training purposes.

Easy fix for question on troop increase and our resolve in Afghanistan. Since you cannot make a decision Mr. President I will help you out. Lets take a vote! That is still American right?
Tell everyone you need help from that is not a Representative and tell the House and the Senate this Friday October 2nd will be a working lunch. NOONE GOES HOME UNTIL A VOTE IS DONE. If you are an ELECTED REPRESENTATIVE you will be there. FBI or Secrete Service or whoever will make sure your appointment book is cleared and will insure you can make it to your ELECTED place of duty to cast your vote. Heck they can spend time investigating drugs in sports and other nonsense. It would be almost like they would be doing what the tax payers and voters expect them to do. It is called their J O B.
QUESTION: Do we as the House and Senate resource our military to win in Afghanistan and give the Commander 100 percent on the Ground what he says he needs? If you do not and Vote NO. We will begin our withdrawal!
All that is needed is 50 percent plus 1 to go either way. Either we give the commander what he needs or we go home. This would answer who is voting with the President and who is not.
YES IT IS THAT SIMPLE. Because if you do not give the Commander what he needs. Then we prolong the effort and put our nations number 1 resource at risk.
By the way it is a YES or NO vote. We do not accept a vote of I was here.
Mr. President and your vote is first and on camera live on CSPAN! VP Biden is next! We want our President and VP to lead up front!
YES WE CAN ASK YOU TO DO YOUR JOB! And this way the US and the World would know and see you doing your JOB instead of talking about it.

Of course they're discussing Afghanistan in London.
No self respecting politician would be caught dead (pardon the pun) discussing their opinions of our affairs in the country affected...
In other words, no suitable hotels, convention centers or Board Rooms in Iraq, Iran, Pakistan or Afghanistan are there??? But, heck, Dubai is ALWAYS an option...I think Tiger has a home there??? It might be up for rent? Or Jack Nicklaus' place?
