Supreme Court to Decide Whether Detainees Can Be Released Into U.S.
The Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether federal judges can order detainees held at Guantanamo Bay to be released onto United States soil. The case concerns 17 Muslim refugees from the Uighur region of western China who were picked up by U.S. forces in late 2001 after fleeing a camp in the mountains of Afghanistan.
The government long ago gave up trying to prove the detainees have connections to al-Qaida or the Taliban, and last year a district court judge ordered them released. The judge said the Uighurs should go free in the U.S. because they face oppression if they are returned to China, where they are seen as terrorists. Earlier this year, a federal court in Washington reversed the ruling, saying judges do not have the power to force the White House to release foreigners into the U.S.

Earlier this year, a federal court in Washington reversed the ruling, saying judges do not have the power to force the White House to release foreigners into the U.S.
The appeal from the Uighur detainees has been pending since April, according to the New York Times. It's unclear why the justices decided to take up the case now.

This is another mess that Obama has made. Let's see what his options are: (1) pay somebody to take them and put the monkey on their back, (2) try them in a civilian court which will throw out the case due to a lack of evidence, (3) leave them in jail and ignore the rights that Obama has conferred upon them, (4) release them into the US. So, of course, the court will find that that they have to be released into the US. They can't leave the situation in limbo. The mistake made by Obama is basic, but Obama made it because he has no concept of military issues. The solution was the original situation. It was a military situation and would remain that way until the military decided otherwise. Primary goal is to protect the US. Obama has demonstrated that his sympathies lie with these muslim terrorists and you are his enemy.

LOL - don't you just hate it when people you don't like aren't convicted and imprisoned solely because you don't like them.
Where are all the Federalist Judges who believe in allowing flimsy or no evidence to be used to convict someone.
Ah well, at least in Texas innocent white men can still be executed.

If the liberal left and Obama do not want to keep them in Gitmo then we should give them all plane tickets back to their countries of origin or where they have citizenship. They were all captured on the battlefield so what else could they be but enemy soldiers. Just send them home and be done with it.

The 1985 arrest of Jonathan Pollard, a US civilian intelligence analyst at the Pentagon, and his subsequent conviction for spying for Israel seriously strained US-Israeli relations. After his conviction, he was granted Israeli citizenship and his release is a perennial Israeli demand.
The Justice Department said: “From 1989 through 2006, Nozette held security clearances as high as top secret and had regular, frequent access to classified information and documents related to the US national defense.”
Mr Nozette “discussed his willingness to work for Israeli intelligence” and offered to “answer questions about this information in exchange for money”.
He was then given envelopes of money in exchange for answers to lists of questions about American satellite technology.

Well let's see..The current court being as far left as you can go.. except for two justices..my guess would of course be YES!!..and once there here there is about 75 different liberal innocence organization that will take there case and spend untold amounts of taxpayers dollars to win them there freedom..then we can hasten the destruction of this country...don't beleive me...just watch....

The problems started when you give terrorist and outlaws caorured in armed combat POW status. The problem was componded when they were said to be covered by Habeas Corpus. This gave each and everyone of the Bastards a right to trial as if they had been accusssed of robbery!
