Pennsylvania's Democratic governor, Ed Rendell, can't run again in 2010 because of term limits, and right now there's no clear favorite in the Democratic gubernatorial field, while Republicans have a leading candidate but a lot of undecided voters when it comes to a GOP primary, according to a Franklin & Marshall poll conducted Oct. 20-25.

The top three candidates among the Democrats are Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato at 10 percent, state Auditor General Jack Wagner at 9 percent, and Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Hoeffel at 6 percent. Two others are at 3 percent each. But the most significant figure for the moment is the 66 percent who are undecided.

On the Republican side, state Attorney General Tom Corbett leads four-term Rep. Jim Gerlach by 30 percent to 8 percent, with 5 percent preferring someone else and 57 percent undecided.
