Click here to visit the new home of Politics Daily!Eighteen percent cite the situations in Iraq and Afghanistan as the top priority, up from 11 percent last November; 17 percent name health care, up from 5 percent, 14 percent point to the federal budget deficit, up from 7 percent, and only 2 percent say it should be energy, down from 6 percent.
The percentages of Democrats, Republicans and independents who choose the economy as the top priority are all in the low 40s. On the deficit, 23 percent of Republicans say it should be a top priority compared to 5 percent of Democrats. Eleven percent of independents and 10 percent of Republicans say health care should be a priority compared to 30 percent of Democrats.
