Franklin Delano Roosevelt once said we have nothing to fear but fear itself. Rep. Virginia Foxx would modify that statement.
Foxx (R-N.C.) went to the floor of the House of Representatives Monday to say we have plenty to fear when it comes to the Democratic leadership's health care proposal, released on Friday and likely to come up for a vote this week.
"I believe that the greatest fear that we should have comes from this room, this very room, and what may happen later this week in terms of a tax increase bill masquerading as a health care bill," Foxx said. "I believe we have more to fear from the potential of that bill passing than we do from any terrorist right now in any country." Foxx then read selected passages of the bill and concluded, "It's a bad bill and the American people should be frightened of it."
