Politics Daily contributor Matt Lewis appeared on "Lou Dobbs Tonight' on Wednesday with Time's Mark Halperin to discuss the claims being made by Republican and Democratic leaders about Tuesday's election implications and the effect that independents had on the results. Democrats have to be VERY VERY discouraged by the loss of New Jersey. Democrats went ALL IN to prop up Corzine and hold New Jersey.
President Obama spent his political capitol in support of Corzine by bringing his never ending campaign machine to New Jersey, I believe, FOUR times in support of Corzine. Even former President Clinton stumped for Corzine and independents STILL ABANDONED democrats and voted for Christie by a 2 to 1 margin!!
Democrats are rationalizing this stinging defeat in New Jersey, in spite of the overwhelming Obama and Clinton support for Corzine, with the fact New Jersey has traditionally voted out the governor of the incumbent party in the WHite House. Really what a stat!! So since when do Democrats actually care about history.
Our economy is going into record debt at a record pace. We have nearly double digit unemployment. The fed is printing money at record rates that has historically led to rapid inflation and rising interest rates.
In the Jimmy Carter 1970's we had double digit unemployment, double digit inflation and 18-25% double digit interest rates. Many of those who support Obama's fiscal policies have spent 25 of the last 27 years living through the unprecedented HISTORIC 1982 to 2007 economic BOOM and most are absolutely CLUELESS of the Jimmy Carter economy.
Jimmy WHO???? Didn't he win a Nobel Peace Prize too?? Yeah....... exactly.
This DOES NOT bode well for 2010 for Democrats.
In recent political history only 2 Presidents party did not lose seats/control during the mid term elections of their first term................. FDR and.............. are you ready for this Pundit, ............... George W. Bush. HOWS THAT FOR A STAT PUNDIT!!!!!!!!!
