Texas Gov. Rick Perry leads Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, 46 percent to 35 percent, in the race for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, with Debra Medina, a former county GOP chairman, drawing 4 percent, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted Nov. 11. Fourteen percent are undecided.
Rasmussen had the race as a toss-up in its last poll two months ago.
Perry leads Hutchison, 52 percent to 30 percent, among those who identify themselves as conservatives, while Hutchison has a majority among moderates and liberals.
Both Perry and Hutchison poll about the same when it comes to favorability ratings.
