Former Arkansas governor and likely 2012 presidential contender Mike Huckabee already has strong words for his potential opponent. Huckabee told an Orlando radio station he opposes holding the trial of 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed in civilian court in New York City, and that if anything goes unexpectedly, Obama is likely to lose his office.

"God help us if they get off on a technicality because of the way the evidence was gathered," Huckabee said. "I would tell you not only is the Obama administration finished, I think the Democratic Party is finished."

Huckabee speculated that Mohammed and the other detainees will use the trial to spout anti-American propaganda. "I think it's absurd," he added, "and I think the Obama administration will be as much on trial as Khalid Sheikh Mohammed."

Our New Approach to Comments

In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers – a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around. Please read our Help and Feedback section for more info.
