Fox News television host Glenn Beck may cultivate an image as "the ultimate everyguy" who asks the questions that others don't, but he is also a savvy media mind who has built an empire of projects in a multimillion dollar machine, the St. Petersburg Times says.

That empire includes his syndicated radio show, drawing 9 million listeners weekly, and earning him $10 million a year; a GlennBeck.com website that has five million unique visitors a month, 1.5 million listeners to his podcasts and 1 million subscribers to his daily e-mail; his Fox TV show with 2.7 million daily listeners; five consecutive books that made the New York Times best-seller list; and an array of stage shows that have drawn 250,000 people since 2004 and earned him $2.4 million.
Forbes says Beck has earned $23 million since June 2008.
Beck is in Florida today where the Times and the Politico say he will announce a "big plan" for 2010 that will see him becoming more active in the conservative political movement he has helped spawn. Beck this year created the 9.12 Project which takes its name from the day after the Sept. 11 attacks when Beck said the nation was more unified, Dozens of local 9.12 groups have sprung up across the country since then.
The New York Times has this update on Beck's Florida event.
The New Yorker magazine had this not very favorable review of Beck's Fox show.

He made $23 million dollars for being an asshole puppet for Rupert (Mr Senile) Murduch and Roger Ailes and make a mockery out of the 1st amendment at the same time. The reason he is no longer with CNN is because he can't circumvent the truth like he does at Fox. Only in Fox's warp view of America can a man loose 81 sponsors and millions of dollars for his employer and still keep a job. CNN would never let him loose that much money for them which is why they parted ways with Lou Dobbs.

Glenn Beck is Morton Downey Jr meets Jimmy Swagart with a hint of Jerry Springer.I would watch him and laugh,but the idea that some people see him as a reliable source of information is frightening. I don't take Beck lightly. I think he is dangerous.

I agree. Beck is dangerous. He continues to show the truth of what is going on in Congress and asks the American people to challenge what they are being given from Congress. Higher taxes, bigger government, inflation, and the list goes on. Sometimes I do wonder what life would be like if people quit sitting around waiting for the government to help them, and instead people helped themseleves. Remember the American Dream? Hard work and perseverance. Now you just get a lot of people wanting a handout.

Pundit, what is your point about the discrepancy of wealth. That is what makes this country great. Anyone can make money here if they try hard enough. If you don't want to work hard your reward is to get what you deserve. Those who take the risks deserve the rewards. Why should they be punished? Your facts support what makes this country great.
The current administration wants to make everyone the same. That did not work in Russia or China. China is more democratic than the US in many ways now. They own our debt which keeps increasing. It is really scary that no one can see we are headed in a worse direction than we were 2 years ago or last year. Obama has been in office almost a year and made things worse. Change is good and necessary, but not the change we are experiencing and our leaders are providing.
