New York State Senate Rejects Gay Marriage in 38-24 Vote

well guess what sweetie, they'll keep trying. =] Just as a black man can marry a white woman, two men or two women should be able to marry. Equal rights for all.

They are not talking about marriage. They are talking about a union of two of the same kind. I don't think we are changing the definition of marriage for 10% of our population.

WHAT? You make no sense. A human's right to love and marry whoever they want has nothing to do with pedophilla. (I don't want to counter that argument with grown men touching little girls and vice versa.) Why do you associate homosexuality to pedophiles? There is zero overlapping. If you just free your brainwashed mind you will see that you have no argument.

Let's take religion out of the equation, separation of church and state. Politicians, voting for the voice of the people, make a mockery out of the ‘sacristy of marriage’ when they cheat, divorce, and remarry. This is so hypocritical- America doesn't believe in the sacristy of marriage with nearly half the marriages ending in divorce. Marriage is a basic civil right. I don't believe one demographic loves less than another. Today is a sad day. I do, however, see on these message boards how ill-informed our country is and how much hate we have for the unknown.

There are many straight couples not able to procreate that need to adopt. Should they not be married? And, thank you for spewing more ignorance by stating that you think marriage is only based on sexual activity in the bedroom. Your sentiments illustrate perfectly why the divorce rate is so high. What if they put a new law into effect that ignorant hate-filled people weren't allowed to be married. You wouldn't mind based on your statement, Jay, right? Marriage is only something you do in your bedroom afterall.

We have gay men and women fighting for our rights oversees, paying taxes, and they ARE entitled to the same rights as you and me. This is an absolute disgrace. Our grandkids will be feel the same shame that we do when we read about slavery and women's suffrage. If you don't know what that means pick up a history book and put down you Wii.

And, by the way...your need to reply to every opinion contrary to yours speaks volumes. You're more obsessed with LGBT equality than gay & lesbian people are, and you relate it all to sex. News flash: our lives are as humdrum and everyday as yours are, and your need to focus on what we do in our bedrooms says LOADS (pun intended) about your sexual perversion and nothing about anyone else.

How is having equal rights afforded all people under the constitution seen as special rights in your eyes. That makes absolutly no sense to me.
