Obama Says He Trusts Secret Service '100 Percent'

President Obama says he has full confidence in the Secret Service despite last month's security breach at the White House, where an uninvited couple crashed a state dinner.

In a joint interview Thursday with USA Today and the Detroit Free Press, Obama acknowledged "the system didn't work the way it was supposed to" but the incident hasn't shaken his trust in the men and women charged with protecting him and his family.

"I could not have more confidence in the Secret Service," the president said. "They do an outstanding job. They have been with me since I was a candidate. I trust them 100 percent, not just with me but with my wife and my children."

The Secret Service has admitted mistakes were made when Tareq and Michaele Salahi were allowed into the White House and shook the president's hand. Three uniformed officers have been put on administrative leave.
