There was a time in his career when Tiger Woods was seen favorably by more than 80 percent of Americans, but a Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted Dec. 10-13 finds that the public is now split in how they regard him, with 43 percent viewing him negatively compared to 42 percent who still see him positively. Fourteen percent expressed no opinion.

Forty-six percent of men still see Woods favorably compared to 41 percent who do not, while women see him unfavorably by 45 percent to 39 percent.

Woods does better among self-described golf fans. Sixty-two percent of those continue to see him favorably while 37 percent do not.

Fifty-four percent say that despite his self-admitted "personal sins" -- apparently his extramarital affairs -- companies should continue to use Woods to endorse their products, while 38 percent say they should not, with 8 percent expressing no opinion. The worldwide consulting company Accenture has already dropped Wood, while other sponsors are taking a wait-and-see approach.
