On the economy, 56 percent disapprove of Obama's performance compared to 40 percent who approve, an increase from the 53-44 percent disapproval margin in the previous poll.
Fifty-eight percent disapprove of his handling of health care, compared to 37 percent who approve, an increase in the disapproval margin of 53-40 percent in the last survey.
Gallup's findings on the public's assessment of Obama on these two key domestic issues tracks with other national polls on the president released this week:
