Norm Coleman Says He Won't Run for Minnesota Governor

Former senator and 1998 Republican gubernatorial candidate Norm Coleman said Sunday that he will not make another run for governor of Minnesota, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.
"This is not the right time for me and my family to conduct a campaign for Governor," Coleman wrote in a Facebook post. "The timing on this race is both a bit too soon and a bit too late."
Coleman, who lost a highly contested Senate race to Al Franken last year, was expected to announce that he would enter the upcoming gubernatorial contest.
In addition to his years in the Senate, he has served as the mayor of St. Paul both as a Republican and Democrat. Since losing to Franken, Coleman has founded a think tank to advocate conservative policies.
