Burr Has Double-Digit Leads Over Two Democrats in N.C. Senate Race
Bruce Drake
First-term Republican Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina has healthy leads in matchups against Secretary of State Elaine Marshall and former state Sen. Cal Cunningham, two of his potential Democratic challengers, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll conducted Jan. 27
Burr leads Marshall 47 percent to 37 percent with 6 percent preferring another candidate and 10 percent undecided. He leads Cunningham 50 percent to 34 percent with 5 percent preferring someone else and 11 percent undecided.
While these margins have been pretty stead since last year, Rasmussen still considers Burr potentially vulnerable as it does for any incumbent polling under 50 percent.
The Rasmussen numbers are about the same as in a Public Policy Polling survey conducted Jan. 15-18.
