A single-issue glossy magazine promising "the untold story" of Sarah Palin has hit newsstands and convenience stories around the country, the Washington Post reports. Palin had nothing to do with the creation of the magazine, which boasts 100 pages of photos and purports to tell the former vice presidential candidate's story "in her own words."

The magazine sells for $8.99 and will be on sale through the end of April. It is published by IMG, an international marketing firm, and Imagine That Publishing, which have jointly produced similar magazines on Michael Jackson, Michelle Obama, and the "Twilight" movies.

"The genesis of it was really simple," Steve LeGrice, the publisher of Imagine That, told the Post. "We're up here in New York, and there was clearly this huge enthusiasm for Sarah Palin, and at the same time all the people in the media world were sitting around scratching their heads" about how people could support her.

"What we decided to do is put out a magazine all in her own words," he said -- a magazine "without any opinion or anything added in."

The publication contains childhood and family photos of Palin not previously published elsewhere, including several of her posing with bloody carcasses of bears, birds and other game she had hunted.
