Two of the three Republicans running for their party's nod to face Democratic Rep.
Paul Hodes in the race to succeed retiring GOP Sen. Judd Gregg of New Hampshire now have 10 point leads over Hodes, according to a
Rasmussen Reports poll conducted Narch 8.
State Attorney General
Kelly Ayotte leads Hodes 47 percent to 37 percent with 4 percent preferring someone else and 12 percent undecided. The margin of error is 4.5 points. A month ago, she had led by 7 points.
Businessman
William Binnie, who last month had led Hodes by a point, now is ahead of him by 46 percent to 36 percent with 4 percent preferring someone else and 14 percent undecided. The only Republican Hodes leads is lawyer
Ovide Lamontagne by a margin of 42 percent to 38 percent with 5 percent preferring someone else and 15 percent undecided. But Lomontagne gained 2 points over last month.
Ayotte and Binnie hold big leads over Hodes among voters unaffiliated with either party. While liberals heavily favor Hodes against the two, and conservatives favor the Republicans, Ayotte and Binnie run evenly with Hodes among moderates.

Our New Approach to Comments
In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers –
a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around.
