Pennsylvania Sen. Arlen Specter holds an 11 point lead over Rep. Joe Sestak, his challenger for the Democratic nomination, but it is the smallest margin over Sestak since December, according to a
Rasmussen Reports poll conducted March 15.
Specter is ahead 48 percent to 37 percent with 5 percent preferring another choice and 9 percent undecided. In January and February, Specter was over the 50 percent mark, leading Sestak by 11 points and 15 points respectively. Last December, he led by 13 points.
Specter is seen favorably by 65 percent of Democrats and unfavorably by 31 percent. Sestak is seen favorably by 57 percent and unfavorably by 22 percent, but 21 percent don't know enough about him to express an opinion compared to 4 percent in that category for Specter.
Democrats identifying themselves as conservative back Sestak 62 percent to 24 percent with the balance preferring another choice or undecided. Moderates favor Specter 49 percent to 35 percent, and liberals back him by 56 percent to 32 percent.

Our New Approach to Comments
In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers –
a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around.
