Sarah Palin must be crying all the way to the bank when she thinks about the public service job she gave up as governor of Alaska.

The 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate -- and 2010 favorite of conservative audiences across the Lower 48 -- has made an estimated $12 million-plus since resigning last July, ABC News reported Tuesday. The network said Palin reputedly made $7 million from her book deal for "Going Rogue," is getting $250,000 per episode for her Alaska reality show on the Learning Channel -- that sum is based on a report from the Daily Beast -- and typically collects $100,000 for speaking engagements, according to Politico. On top of that, she earns an undisclosed amount from a multi-year contract with Fox News Channel, and has a second book deal with HarperCollins.

Put it all together, ABC said, and the figures from publicly available records and news account total more than $12 million -- 100 times her $125,000 annual salary in the governor's office in Juneau. No comment from Palin. An aide told the network she "is now a private citizen. As a result, her fees and earnings are private."
