A recent survey by the Pew Research Center is filled with bleak news for Democrats and the cause of liberalism. "By almost every conceivable measure Americans are less positive and more critical of government these days," according to an overview of the Pew survey. It finds "a perfect storm of conditions associated with distrust of government – a dismal economy, an unhappy public, bitter partisan-based backlash, and epic discontent with Congress and elected officials."
Having once supported the Republican Party for the better part of my life, I can no longer in good conscience pretend that what the Republicans are now doing to undermine the very fabric of this nation is okay. It is not okay. Even far more irksome are articles similar to this that act as if Obama is suffering in the polls and in his ability to do his job, because somehow he his delusional, or was not smart enough, or lacked integrity, or simply did not work hard enough. He was all these things and then some. Come on, if it were not directly for the Republican driven interference we would have had not only a great president, but one that would of gone down in history for having made major and significant change for the good of both the united States and the international community. I do understand the jealousy though. It must be so demeaning, so humiliating to have to always walk into a room in his presence, knowing Obama consistently holds a reputation of being the smartest man in the room -- just as Bill Clinton was when he was in office and still is.
We as Americans had the moral and ethical obligation to support the President of the United States, but we failed him. Greed, envy, jealousy, it doesn't really matter the disguise it showed up in. But for those that chose to participate in this political lynching should be held accountable. Instead of doing the right thing we chose the path of least resistance, we hung on to the old rugged cross, far more reminiscent of the clan days than anyone wants to admit. Bill Clinton we thank you for acting honorable and with integrity. Thank you for having the guts and the determination to still fight for us, to fight for Obama, to fight for all Americans.
For those that think it is still cool to actively bash and hinder President Obama all I can say is shame on you. For those on the fence, do the right things even if that means a paradigm shift in policy attitude. You do know who you are. We all do. You are the ones that no matter what this president does will go against him, as you have only one clear agenda and that is to directly see him fail. But you forgot one critical thing; you forgot that as you were busy taking Obama down you also took a nation down, you also took our families down, and you took down the spirit of our future generations, like my daughter – she is important, she does matter, she counts.
Since this so painfully appears to be a financially backed republican site, I don't imagine this comment of mine will get posted, now will it? There is nothing offensive in my comment and nothing that could begin to be construed as a personal attack. It is in fact on point. I should be allowed to freely express my opinion even if not in agreement with the views of the author. Should the editor feel the need to delete this comment, I will have proven my point. I will then proceed to publish this comment all over the internet, exposing this sites bias. We hope that this will not be necessary and respectfully ask the editor to publish this comment.
