Dodging bullets and drafting legislation are not divergent challenges for Sowers, and a chorus is rising that not enough people who send troops to war have ever seen one themselves. This may very well be the most promising political statement of the year!
"Since basic training, you're taught to put aside your differences and do what's best for the country," said Lynn. "That's what we need in our elected officials, because the enemy's on the other side of the battlefield, not the aisle."
It's absolutely true and critically important to our future! Unfortunately the Democratic Party either forgot this or never knew it!
It would be easier to believe theb"put aside your differences" rhetoric if he was running Independent. We have seen Congress in actions and the two parties who pressure and threaten their members to the breaking point until they vote how they want them to vote. So while I applaud his comments, they simply do not reflect the harsh reality in Washington.

A few exmilitary, a few lawyers but only a few as they represent a small microcosm of our society. I'd love to see carpenters and housewives and a splattering of nearly profession from nearly every end of the economic spectrum. But lo, without changes to the financing means for elections and term limits, we will be crippled with the well funded (rich) elite running the show. Beware of the military industrial complex, (Eisenhower) While the military protects the country, they are a big tax sink too. Anyone that says reduce taxes and a strong military are speaking with a forked tongue.

As an Afghanistan Combat Vet I can say the Democrats have time and time again slaped us in the face! Perhaps they want to bring the Democrat party back to the center (and or reality). Really both Parties need to come back to reality because they have both forgotten that they serve us.... NOT THEMSELVES!
