Graham and Reilly will be joined by five other appointees, including "leaders in science and engineering," whom Obama said he would announce "very soon." The commission is expected to release its findings in the next six months. Obama relaxed regulations in 2009 for BP....campaign money for the Ok!

June 01 2010 at 7:58 PM Report abuse Permalink +4 rate up rate down ReplyHolder is going to prosecute to the fullest extent. Does this include Elizabeth Birnbaum who was the head of MMS na dwas first hired by the Clinton Administration, let go by Bush , rehired by the Obama Administration and knows nothing about Oil? Birnbaum has been in place this time with Obama for eighteen months during a time when workers of the MMS were accepting gifts from the Oil companies. Apparently she didnt learn anything during the Clinton adminstration. You are seeing the result of decades of appointments of Political hacks and lax regulation. Obama was going to be different and run the most Ethical and Transparent Government and Pelosi was going to have the moat Ethical Congress. It got worse. Hurricane season started today in the Gulf of Mexico and fifty percent of the Oil Rigs are located in the Gulf. China has signed an agreement with Cuba for deep water drilling. What is this Government going to do if China has a similar problem a since China doesnt have the expertise? BP has alreadt paid over 350 miilion in claims and the cap is 75 miilion so Holder talking about filing Criminal charges is pathetic when ther eis no evidence. Why did Obama recently cut the budget of the U.S. Coast Guard?Mean while the people of Louisiana are suffering and even Carville has admonished the Government and after four weeks Obama takes off for three hours which is about three holes of Golf to talk to them.

June 01 2010 at 6:49 PM Report abuse Permalink +6 rate up rate down ReplyThey launched a criminal investigation and there are no charges to date (hence the investigation). Investigate, identify the criminal activity, prosecute. That's how it goes.

June 01 2010 at 6:06 PM Report abuse Permalink +6 rate up rate down ReplyI have a novel idea. Why not fix the problem FIRST, then conduct a criminal investigation?
June 01 2010 at 5:57 PM Report abuse Permalink +13 rate up rate down ReplyAnd so continues Obama's endless quest for scapegoats. He has an almost religious passion for blaming people for things.
June 01 2010 at 5:38 PM Report abuse Permalink +11 rate up rate down ReplyI'm with Obama I think we should investigate and punish any illegal activities is dithering illegal?
June 01 2010 at 5:02 PM Report abuse Permalink +6 rate up rate down ReplyFor me, taking an agressive stance is coming up with a solution to getting this leak stopped. Too much time in front of the camera showing the world who's big brother. Problem solving takes a back seat and people are suffering a horrible loss.
June 01 2010 at 5:01 PM Report abuse Permalink +9 rate up rate down ReplyWhen this crisis is over, we should definitely investigate to see if laws were broken, but right now the gulf coast needs a President, not a lawyer.
June 01 2010 at 4:53 PM Report abuse Permalink +9 rate up rate down ReplyBut groundwork has to be layed for someone to blame other then the slow response from the WH
