The alarm on
Lindsay Lohan's alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet was set off at an
MTV Movie Awards after-party, according to numerous reports.
The now
internet-famous SCRAM bracelet monitors the wearer's perspiration for alcohol.
It's not clear what the so-called SCRAM device off; someone could have spilled alcohol on the court-ordered devise at a party, or it may have been tampered with. But The New York Daily News thinks that's unlikely in Lohan's case.
"
Our information is that it was not a mistake or malfunction," an unnamed source told The Daily News.
If the free-spirited actress was consuming alcohol, she may end up in jail.
In May, Judge Marsha Revel ordered the 23-year-old actress to wear the bracelet after she
broke her probation agreement for a DUI charge. Revel is expected to receive a SCRAM report by tomorrow, and if the device did find alcohol in LiLo's system, the judge could revoke her bail.
Our New Approach to Comments
In an effort to encourage the same level of civil dialogue among Politics Daily’s readers that we expect of our writers –
a “civilogue,” to use the term coined by PD’s Jeffrey Weiss – we are requiring commenters to use their AOL or AIM screen names to submit a comment, and we are reading all comments before publishing them. Personal attacks (on writers, other readers, Nancy Pelosi, George W. Bush, or anyone at all) and comments that are not productive additions to the conversation will not be published, period, to make room for a discussion among those with ideas to kick around.
