George W. Bush First Facebook Video: 'Done with Politics' Not Policy

In what he termed his "inaugural address on Facebook," former President George W. Bush spoke directly to his fans about what he has been up to of late.

"I am pleased to report that Laura and I are happy, healthy and home here in the great state of Texas, or what I call 'the promised land,'" Bush quipped.

He also stressed he had not given up on trying to influence the direction of the country. "As I tell people, I may be done with politics, but I am not done with policy," Bush said with a wry smile.

Since launching his Facebook page last week, the 43rd president has tallied a little over 150,000 friends.

I am so glad to see you and hear your voice. I wanted to contact you and Mrs. Bush (who is a perfect counterpart to you) to say, "Please don't divorce. I stood in the check-out line too long. I will not buy them again. Save my money try to change our goverment. Of course, you would not consider running for President again. Our country and the MEDIA treated you shamefully. Glad to see you are together and working for our country again. History proves, with hindsight, what was right and an wrong.

Gee, its great to hear your voice and see your smiling face again. Its also comforting to know that there are those like yourself who are still out here with us helping to get this derailed country back on track.

God Bless you President Bush!! Wish you were still in the White House as I don't feel safe anymore. I am glad you and Laura are enjoying your retirement and look forward to reading your book in November.
